The state and nationally accredited College of Education prepares high quality elementary, middle school, and secondary teachers, and other education professionals for the essential roles they play in guiding the education of our youth.The faculty accomplishes this through a variety of interdisciplinary instructional programs in teacher education, research in the educational process, and engagement with Indiana schools.

Department of Curriculum & Instruction

The Department of Curriculum & Instruction offers undergraduate and graduate level instruction in curriculum, teaching methodology in specialty areas (such as career and technical education, consumer and family sciences education, educational technology, elementary education, literacy and language education, mathematics education, science education, and social studies education), and supervised clinical experiences with students in schools and community settings. Department of Educational Studies

The Department of Educational Studies offers graduate degree programs and professional certification programs in counseling and development, educational foundations and administration, educational psychology, and special education, and an undergraduate degree program in special education. The Department also engages in scholarly research and development activities and performs continuing education and public service to individuals, groups, educational systems, government and other agencies. Office of Advising & Recruiting

The Office of Advising & Recruiting assists current and prospective College of Education students by providing advising about College of Education programs and providing referral to additional academic, personal, and career counseling as needed. The Office of Field Experiences coordinates early field experiences and student teaching placements for all students in Purdue University's various Teacher Education programs. Office of Professional Preparation & Licensure

The Office of Professional Preparation & Licensure (OPPL) goals are to provide friendly, knowledgeable and expedient services to all individuals who request assistance and information about teacher education at Purdue University. OPPL supports the Purdue University Teacher Education Council and accreditation activities by assisting prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and P-12 educators with teacher preparation, licensure and continuing education needs.
